  • Illica Pozzatti - Fine Artist and Musician

Illica grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, immersed in music and art from the beginning. Her father, a renowned visual artist, named her after the famed librettist, Luigi Illica, who wrote Madame Butterfly and La bohème. The youngest of five, Illica started playing piano at 5 and picked up a paint brush at age 3.

Illica Pozzatti is a Bloomington-based visual artist and musician whose career is defined by a lifelong immersion in the arts. Influenced by her father, the renowned printmaker and painter Rudy Pozzatti, she inherited a profound understanding of the patience and keen observation required to navigate the modern art world.

After earning two degrees from Indiana University, Illica’s professional journey took her from an art director role at Hirons Advertising to the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. While in NYC, her musical roots flourished, eventually leading to the 2012 release of her record, Queens & Kings, produced by David Bianco in Hollywood. Illica’s songs are registered with BMI under the name Haute & Bothered Music.

As a visual artist, Illica focuses primarily on representational painting and drawing. Her work often centers on the human figure, seeking to reveal deeper psychological aspects of her subjects. Guided by the belief that imagination is the essential element of any "skillful invention," she finds particular joy in the collaborative nature of commissions.

Today, Illica serves as the founder of Haute & Bothered, a lifestyle label where she seamlessly blends her expertise in fine arts and graphic design with her passion for music.

Illica was recently honored by Marquis Who’s Who for her expertise in art. Read the full press release here.
